June is a 73 y/o patient whom I have followed for a number of years for a variety of problems. She has in particular suffered substantially from degenerative scoliosis and chronic lumbar and cervical pain with a prior lumbar laminectomy. She has needed ongoing regime of Ibuprofen, Tramadol and Hydrocodone to maintain basic comfort.
I have noted in a visit today, May that the patient has had significant improvement in a number of parameters over the past several months. The posture has improved and her pain levels have declined such that refills for medications have been markedly reduced. This has occurred while she was under the care of a chiropractor, Dr. Jeffrey Ptak, who has instituted exercise and general treatment program for her back for this specific problem. I would normally not anticipate the kind of results that she has obtained but they are quite impressive and I would request that she be covered for additional visits to continue her progress.
